The summer is flying by! Can you believe we are in the latter part of July already? Make the most of this summer and take advantage of this wonderful time of year. And what better way to celebrate with your family than enjoying a picnic? Toronto and surrounding areas have some Fantastic parks outfitted with picnic tables and plenty of greenery to stay in the shade. Don’t forget to bring along extra water, hats, umbrellas and your sunscreen. With humidity levels rising, dehydration is more common, better to be safe!
Bluffers Park
With a sandy beach, picnic areas and walking trails, this is a perfect spot for enjoying the water and nature trails.
Dufferin Grove Park
Picnic tables are available on a first come, first served basis. This park also has an enclosed playground with traditional wooden play structures, a wading pool, and sandpit for that “at the beach” feel.
Etienne Brule Park
This park is a wilderness retreat next to Old Mill Subway Station. It features a valley picnic park and playground facilities for the kids.
Toronto Islands
The Toronto Islands provide many great secluded picnic spots along with many other fun amenities for the kids. Hanlan Point features 13 picnic areas with 4 fire pits and Ward’s Island features 21 picnic areas with 6 fire pits.
High Park
Toronto’s Park Jewel. The park also features a volunteer built playground, a zoo, trackless train, a children’s garden, sports fields, walking nature trails, and more.
