I was gifted tickets to this event. All opinions are my own.
BrickCan is the largest public exhibition of Lego creations in the province. Builders from all over the world bring their creations to the River Rock Casino Resort in Richmond. The event coincided with The Adult Fan of LEGO Convention, a four-day event, set up and staged their creations, showcasing a fantastic display of hundreds of incredible models for both attendees and the general public to admire. The event allows you to meet Lego’s builders from all over the globe, create your own masterpieces at the creation stations, and browse the marketplace with a variety of vendors selling rare and new Lego, clothing, jewellery, artwork and more. This year participants were also able to join together in creating a giant, one-of-a kind Lego mosaic designed by Certified Lego Professional Robin Sather.
My daughter was never a huge Lego fan so I opted to attend with a friend of the family instead. Our ticket gave us a two-hour window to explore. The line to get in was a bit slow-moving so if attending I suggest going early as it is a very popular, well-attended convention. This was our first time going and we were very impressed with the diverse range of designs and creativity of all the designs. My daughter would get frustrated if we couldn’t put the basic LEGO designs together as they appeared on the box so the intricate designs were a bit mind blowing. They reminded me of the designs we had seen in Anaheim at downtown Disney. There was something for everyone.
