And just a bit further afield in Vancouver and Coquitlam we’ve got the Kids Camp Expo and the fun outdoor Festival Du Bois (with Charlotte Diamond performing). Stanley Park Young Naturalists: Our Feathered Friends
Learn all about nests. Do you know what happens to abandoned bird nests? And why are woodpeckers important for many other birds? Create a bird’s nest box with recycled materials, and listen to stories about birds. For ages 5 – 14 with an adult; please pre-register.
Attend Western Canada’s biggest Francophone festival. Enjoy live music, performances, good food and warm atmosphere. Visit the sugar shack for maple sugar treats, check out a variety of workshops, and meet some roving entertainers around the festival site. There are concerts for the kids including Charlotte Diamond and others.

A yoga fundraiser for the MPS II research fund (purcelldeb@gmail.com). When Trey Purcell was diagnosed with MPS II Hunter Syndrome on Valentine’s Day in 2006, his parents, Deb & Ryan Purcell were told he might not live to be 10 years old. March 1, 2014 marks Trey’s 10th birthday and they are thrilled to announce that his birthday this year will be a yoga fundraiser!!
North Shore Winter Club Curling Open House (FREE)
1:00 pm – 3:00 pm, North Shore Winter Club – 1325 East Keith Road, North Vancouver, BC
Give curling a try! The North Vancouver Winter Club is hosting an open house so you can test-drive curling. There will be a bunch of instructors that will be on hand to instruct you with the basics of curling and maybe get you playing an end or two. Brooms, sliders and grippers will be provided, please bring a clean pair of running shoes and wear warm and stretchy clothes.

Choose from programs for kids ages preschool to 18 years old. Meet face to face with camp directors and former camp attendees. See informational videos, experience camp activities, and pick up brochures. Choose from overnight and day camps that focus on: sports, education, empowerment/leadership, arts, outdoors and special needs. The first 100 families at the expo will receive a complimentary gift bag. All families will be entered into drawings to receive up to $3000 in prizes!

Come and celebrate Dr. Seuss’s birthday! Make a Fox in Socks Puppet, listen to stories and enjoy a birthday treat. For ages 3 and up, in the first floor program room. Register at the Children’s Information Desk.
