Edmonton Valley Zoo

Come down to the Edmonton Valley Zoo to enjoy Canada Day with your family! We’ll be celebrating our Canadian animals with special animal talks and enrichments! Learn what you can do to help support Canadian species by chatting with local conservation groups. As you stroll around the Zoo you’ll also get to enjoy live music, magic shows, a scavenger hunt, activity tables and more!

General admission applies to all events. We strongly recommend purchasing general admission tickets for July 1st in advance (available 2 weeks prior to the event date). All activities are free with general admission.

  • Canada Day Parade presented by PME: The parade lasts roughly 60 minutes at any given point along the route.
  • Annual Pancake Breakfast then make your way over to watch the parade.
  • Enjoy the talents of our local musicians and entertainers on the Legacy Park Bandshell stage.
  • Festival Food: Canada Day offers some of the most unique and delicious food and beverage options. From hamburgers to snow cones, we have everything to make your taste buds dance.
  • Enjoy exciting activities at Legacy Park from 1-6pm which include: Face Painting and Glitter Tattoos presented by Nutrien, Inflatables, Rock Climbing Wall, iPlay Video, Game Trailer, Canada Day Monster Mural Coloring, Human Foosball, Caricature Artists presented by Life in the Heartland.
  • Canada Day Farmers’ Market
  • Fort Heritage Precinct: The North West Mounted Police Fort at the Fort Heritage Precinct will be open for FREE from 1-6pm!
  • Cap the night off with a fireworks display at the Rotary Amphitheatre at 10:45 pm.
