Out & About: Easter Fun on the North Shore 2014!

We don’t know about you, but our families are definitely ready to say goodbye to our North Shore winter and welcome all that spring has to offer! Here’s our round-up of North Shore & nearby Easter egg hunts, activities, family brunches and other fun!

 

 

 

Sat, Apr 12 (10am-noon) – Easter Carnival ($5)
Location: Coal Harbour Community Centre, 480 Broughton Street, Vancouver

Details: Celebrate Easter and the arrival of spring by spending a fun morning at a carnival. Play carnival games, get your face paint on, make Easter crafts and join the Easter Bunny on an egg hunt. For ages 2 – 7 with an adult; please pre-register.

 

Sun, Apr 13 (9am – noon) – Easter Bunny Hop ($1 per person)
Location: John Braithwaite Community Centre, North Vancouver

Details: This will be a hopping good event, with tons of fun Easter activites for kids aged 2-6yrs. Easter egg hunt is included. Registration required, call 604-983-6388, course number 323491.

 

Wed, Apr 16 – Mon, Apr 21 (various times) – Stanley Park Easter Train
Location: Stanley Park, Downtown Vancouver

Details: The Easter train runs rain or shine and is fully covered. Hop on by for a fun-filled day including a ride on the miniature train, egg hunts running throughout the day (bring your own basket!), crafts and a visit from the Easter Bunny. 

 

Thurs, Apr 17th (10 – 10:30 am & 4- 4:30 pm) – Easter Puppet Show (FREE)
Location: West Vancouver Memorial Library, 1950 Marine Drive, West Van

Details: Come and see a fun puppet show starring the Easter Bunny! For ages 3 – 5; please pre-register.

 

Fri, Apr 18 & Sat, Apr 19 (11am-1pm) – Easter in Dundarave (FREE)
Location: Dundarave Pier, 2400 Marine Drive, West Van

Details: Enjoy Easter happenings in Dundarave. On Friday, come to see the annual Southern Straits Classic Yacht Race take off, walk around on Dundarave Pier, enjoy a pancake breakfast and live music, and meet the Easter Bunny. On Sat at 11 am come back to hunt for 18,000 Easter eggs and enter the plush bunny draw!

 

Sat, Apr 19 (10:30 am) – Lions Club Easter Egg Hunt (FREE)
Location: Heywood Park, Marine Drive & Hamilton Ave, North Van

Details: Rain or shine, there are chocolate eggs to be found in the park. The hunt starts at 10:30 am sharp, so don’t be late! After the hunt is done, meet the Easter bunny, and enjoy a bouncy castle, balloons, crafts, juggling and face painting.

 

Sat, Apr 19 (2pm – 2:45 pm) – Easter Story Time & Crafts (FREE)
Location: North Vancouver City Library, 120 W. 14th Street, North Van

Details: Hop over to the library for Easter stories. Make a craft, and enjoy an Easter treat. For ages 3 and up; please pre-register.

 

Sun, Apr 20 (10am-2pm) – Grouse Mountain Easter Brunch
Location: 6400 Nancy Greene Way, North Van

Details: Enjoy delicious brunch classics for all ages and an Easter egg hunt led by the Easter bunny. 3-course fixed price menu for adults ($45, includes Skyride & Mountaintop admission) and a special children’s buffet ($15 for kids 5-12, 4 & under free).

 

Sun, Apr 20 (10am – 12:30pm) – Easter Egg Hunt at Lonsdale Quay (FREE)
Location: Lonsdale Quay, North Van

Details: Easter activities for kids include egg hunt (10am start), face painting & balloon twisting (small fee) and crafts (from 10:30 am – 12:30 pm), and Easter bunny visit from 11am – 12pm (available for photos). Many of the Easter eggs will contain vouchers for free hot cross buns from COBS Bread in the market!

 

Sun, Apr 20 (10am-1pm) – Easter Eggstravaganza at Maplewood Farm
Location: Maplewood Farm, 405 Seymour River Place, North Van

Details: Spend a fun day at the farm. Meet the baby goats, lambs and other animals. The baby goats need names – can you help name them? Look for Easter eggs, take a pony ride around the farm, and have fun with the family. Adults $8.70, kids $5.70.
