**Disclaimer – I was gifted my experience at the Golden Skybridge**
“New attraction will offer expansive mountain views atop Canada’s highest suspension bridges”
Are you an adventure seeker who loves heights? Then you need to head to Golden, B.C., the site of the latest Skybridge by Pursuit.
Pursuit has expanding their collection of unforgettable and inspiring attractions and hospitality experiences with the launch of the Golden Skybridge in Golden, British Columbia. This multi-season mountain experience will feature two expansive suspension bridges connected by forest trails at the edge of two iconic Canadian Mountain Ranges.
The newly constructed bridges, sitting at 130 and 80 metres high respectively, will offer up dramatic 360 degree views of expansive alpine vistas, while showcasing a roaring 61 metre waterfall and serene mountain river in the deep canyon below. Guests are able to experience the highest suspension bridges in Canada.
“At Pursuit, we are focused on connecting guests to iconic places through unforgettable and inspiring experiences,” says David Barry, President, Pursuit. “The Columbian Valley is one of those remarkable places that is uniquely positioned to provide a stunning, yet accessible mountain experience. Whether you’re staying in Golden or making it a stop along your journey between Alberta and British Columbia, the Golden Skybridge will soon become an iconic experience for Canadian and international visitors alike.”
Pursuit will operate the Golden Skybridge in partnership with a group of local developers led by Paul Deutsch and Rav Soomal.
“There is such pristine natural beauty in this corner of British Columbia and the Golden Skybridge will provide visitors with an intimate look at such stunning mountain scenery,” said Deutsch.
“The town of Golden is emerging as an impressive basecamp for exploring both the Columbia and Rocky Mountains and we look forward to being a continued part of the regions burgeoning tourism growth.”
The Golden Skybridge will feature a three-kilometre-long nature walk weaving throughout the park and across both suspension bridges. Viewing platforms will provide guests with further opportunity to take in the picturesque landscapes. An outdoor courtyard and café at the experience base will provide the perfect pre- and post-stop rest along the mountain journey. For the more adventurous explorers, the Golden Skybridge will also feature a tandem bungee swing and 1,200 metre zipline spanning the canyon, opening later this summer.
Located in southeast British Columbia, 90 minutes from Banff, the mountain town of Golden is surrounded by six Canadian national mountain parks. The mountain community, historically known as an outdoor adventurer’s paradise, is a perfect basecamp to explore pristine mountain landscapes. The town is also a popular stop for visitors travelling between Calgary, Banff, the Okanagan, and Vancouver.

My Experience
This past weekend I had the pleasure of heading to Golden, B.C. for a weekend of adventure and let me tell you, it was such a fun adventure! There is more to the Golden Skybridge than the 2 suspension bridges; there is fun for the whole family.
After purchasing your tickets, you walk through the doors into the most magical experience in the Treetop Village . The first thing you see is the Tree Top Play Park. This park has so much for the little ones to do, from slides to a mini suspension bridge to beautiful handmade wooden swings – this playground has something to keep all of the kiddos busy, and it’s in a beautiful setting surrounded by beautiful trees with picnic tables for the parents to enjoy a delicious meal from The Village Grill. During the summer, you can catch live entertainment from local musicians while enjoying some craft beer or a glass of wine.
You then take a short walk to the first suspension bridge where you can enjoy breathtaking views of the 200-foot waterfall and canyon below. Once you make it across the first bridge, you take another short walk to the second bridge BUT be sure to stop and check out all of the attractions between the first and second bridge. If you like obstacle courses, you will enjoy Canyon Edge Sky Challenge Course. There are 3 different rope courses with varying difficulty levels – including a kids option.
Coming Soon – The Golden Skybridge is also working on a couple of more attractions for the thrill seekers. There is a 1500-foot zipline that will go from one side of the canyon to the other, providing breathtaking views of the canyon, waterfall, and river below. There is also going to be a not so average swing coming. The giant canyon swing is not for the faint of heart. This swing is meant for 2 and will provide a heart-pumping thrill like no other, sending you free-falling over the canyon below below the swing kicks in.
Once you are done taking in all of the thrilling experiences that comes with your time at the Golden Skybridge, you can let your heart slow down by browsing the gift shop that isn’t like your typical gift shop. This gift shop showcases many handmade, unique gifts by local artisans from the Golden area. From the usual sweaters and clothing items to candles and jewelry – there are many things to please everyone.
Make sure to bring your bug spray, being in the Columbia Valley, there are tons of mosquitoes around. And also make sure to wear good walking footwear as you will be up and down a few inclines and the walking trails are gravel so it could be easy to lose your footing. And when you purchase your ticket make sure to get a wrist band which gives you access to their many cameras for automatic photo ops – how cool is that?
My husband and I both agree that this is a new favourite and something we are excited to do and make Golden a new favourite destination for us.
