It’s time for another How Does She Do It? We are thrilled to introduce you to Miranda Lee from Calgary, Alberta.
Are you an Urban or Suburban Mama, where do you live?
I live in Coach Hill in Calgary. We’re definitely in the ‘burbs but at the rate this city is growing it feels like we’ll be inner city in a few years!
Tell us about your children
I have three little girls – a 5, 3 and 1 year old – they’re amazing!
Tell us about your typical weekday
Most weekdays consist of getting up waaaaaay too early, making everyone breakfast, having them send back their orders and making 3 new breakfasts which rarely get finished. We then play, do chores, walk the doggies, maybe go shopping or to the Farmer’s Market, and before you know it, it’s time for school. We walk Kaia to the bus, come back and drive Jada to preschool. On days when the angels are shining their glorious light on my life, Asha has a nap while her big sisters are at school and mom can get some work done.
Do you have help?
We have two sets of amazing grandparents who help us out so much. There’s no way to possibly thank them enough for everything they do for us.
Who cooks dinner?
Generally I do. Occasionally when asked what I’m making for dinner the answer is “a phone call”.
How often do you buy something for just you?
I try to sneak a little something in for myself every time I go to the grocery store. Even if it’s just a lipstick, nailpolish or a new top.
Do you exercise regularly and if so, what and how do you fit it in?
My hubby and I are spoiled in this regard as well. We have a good friend who is a personal trainer. She comes over twice a week at 8:45 once all the kiddies are in bed. It’s fabulous because it’s something we do together but we don’t have to leave the house or get a babysitter.
What clothing lines or stores do you like to buy for your children?
Joe, Carter’s, Cherokee, Gagou Tagou and Children’s Place are favourites. Of course the baby is basically stuck being a little model for Joined At The Hip (my baby clothing line), until she turns two anyway.
