We are excited to introduce you to Tara Jensen. This mama lives in Burnaby, BC with her spouse and one daughter. Tara is also local blogger, British Columbia Mom.
Are you an Urban or Suburban Mama, where do you live?
I’m a suburban mom through and through, we live in North Burnaby.
Tell us about your children?
My daughter Alivia is 8 years old and the light of our life. She loves music, art and wants to be a painter when she grows up.
Tell us about your typical weekday?
Organized chaos would be the best description. On top of blogging full time, I also have a full time day career in health care that keeps me quite busy. It’s up early, breakfasts and lunches ready to go, out the door for school drop off, off to work for 10 hours, a two hour commute and home for a quick tuck in and to settle down to work on British Columbia Mom.
Do you have help?
I do for most things yes, however my other half is out of the house at 5am so late bed times and early mornings are all me and Liv.
Who cooks dinner?
Skip the dishes? Honestly it depends on the day, most days I work until 7pm and don’t make it home until bedtime, on those days my other half handles dinner. The majority is me though, I love to cook for my family when I have the chance.
How often do you buy something just for you?
More frequently now, it took a long time for me to realize that self care included treating myself every so often.
Do you exercise regularly and if so, what and how do you fit it in?
It depends on the day, we are pretty active on the weekends, though most week days I only have time for a walk!
What clothing lines or stores do you like to buy for your children?
I’m a huge fan of Peekaboo Beans, they’re local and started by a local mom so double win there. I also love H&M for warm leggings during the winter.

All things Disney, sloths, post-it notes and candles.

My favourite drugstore buy is…
My absolute favourite perfume – Jennifer Lopez/Live – I can sometimes score it in the $19.99 section at Shoppers and feel like I won the lottery.
My guilty pleasure is…
Bubble baths with Lush bath bombs, I try to make time for a bath at least twice a week. It’s my time to unwind and relax and recharge after a long week.
