Pottery Barn Kids – Thanksgiving Story Time
Saturday, October 6 at 10am
Join the Pottery Barn staff in a story time themed around giving thanks and celebrating family! Read stories PLUS create leaf place cards to adorn your Thanksgiving dinner table!
Cost: FREE – just show up at 10am at Pottery Barn Kids in South Granville.
The UBC Apple Festival
October 13-14 11am-4pm. UBC Botanical Garden
As sad as I am to see the end of peach season, I’m excited that apple season is here! A family event for all ages, the UBC Apple Festival celebrates one of British Columbia’s favourite fruits. There will be over 60 varieties of apples to try, and a children’s area featuring activity stations ranging from crafts, to face painting, games and story telling. $4 admission, free for kids 12 and under. Include access to the botanical garden.
Lullaby League Babysitter Mixer
October 16, 7pm, Pebble Baby Boutique
If you need to find a great babysitter, join Lullaby League at their next mixer to meet and interview lots of sitters in one short hour. Admission $50. DETAILS.
The Salon of Self Care
October 18, 6-9pm, Dailey Method Studio, 3584 W. 41st Ave.
InspireHealth and The Dailey Method are excited to present The Salon of Self Care, an evening designed just for you! Learn how to take care of yourself in the best ways possible through nutrition, exercise and stress reduction and how this directly relates to cancer prevention and self-empowerment. Learn easy, new techniques for stress reduction, feast on a delicious, organic, tapas menu and enjoy good company. Tickets $25 ’til October 10th. $30 regular price.
Little Spooks and Friendly Ghosts
Vandusen Botanical Garden

Tickets now available for Vandusen Garden’s Family Halloween Event! Ideal for children ages 8 year and younger. Adults: $8, Seniors (65+) $6, Child (3-18) $6, Family (2 adults + 2 children) $17. VanDusen Members: Member Child $6, Member Adult and Senior Free. Children under 3 are free.
Southlands Farm Pumpkin Patch
During the month of October, at Southlands Farm, 6767 Balaclava Street at W. 51st Ave.
Explore a magical farming oasis in the city. See the horses, pet the goats, and pick a pumpkin from our Old Apple Orchard. Use the Self-Tour Guide brochure to show yourself and family around the farm. Admission is by donation. Pumpkins are $4-5 each. Open every day in October, 9am-6pm. More info.
Ongoing Events:
The Stanley Park Halloween Ghost Train runs nightly from October 5 – 31. Sun. to Thurs. 6PM to 10PM, Fridays and Saturdays 6PM to 11PM, and matinees every Wednesday 11AM to 3PM. Live music on Friday & Saturdays too.
