With the second wave of COVID-19 upon us, I have decided to bring back Small Business Sundays! Small businesses are the backbone of our economy and we need to support them however we can!
The Humble Nest is a home-based business that operates in Fort Saskatchewan, AB.
The owner of The Humble Nest is a wife of 12 years and a mother to 2 amazing boys. Danelle has a passion for creating wood wall decor to match any home, any style, and any personality.
What Is Unique About Your Business or What Made You Choose This Type of Business?
I began this journey as a hobby, I was even sending in applications to begin more education and I somehow ended up turning my hobby into my career (and didn’t even have to go to school for it, win-win!).
What Is Your Favourite Small Business (Aside From Your Own)?
I have several, the Fort Saskatchewan community is very supportive of small, local businesses. I will name a few different ones for everyone to check out.
Carbon + Cove, A. Keen Photography, Illustrious Interiors, Terra Currie Designs, The Venue, and so many more!
If You Had One Piece of Advice to Someone Just Starting Out, What Would It Be?
Don’t give up, anytime you feel like giving up, keep pushing. You will succeed!
What Are Your Long-Term Business Goals?
Long term I plan to continue as I am now, working from home between wife and mom life. It would be my dream to open a store one day but with the current global situation, I will hold off on that.
What is Your Funniest/Weirdest/Most Memorable Experience With a Customer or Client?
I have many, but to date I will always remember having a customer randomly reach out and leave me flowers after I lost my mom this past January – 2020, that was very touching.
Thank you, Danelle, from The Humble Nest for participating in Small Business Sunday!
Give this mama some love by following her on Facebook and Instagram. If you want to send any of these gorgeous items to family and friends near and far, The Humble Nest offers delivery in the Edmonton Area or shipping within Alberta.
