December is upon us and with the new month you’re probably wondering what is going on in Edmonton this month. Well not to fear, I have a list of some events happening in and around Edmonton for December!

The Festival of Trees

When: November 20th to December 20th

Where: Virtually – enjoy from the comfort of your living room

Magic of Lights

When: November 20, 2020 to January 2, 2021

Where: Castrol Raceway

Cost: $25 per car

The Winter Wonder Forest

When: November 27, 2020 to January 3, 2021

Where: 13204 Rainbow Valley Road, Edmonton; Rainbow Valley Campground

Cost: General car pass $30

Luminaria

When: December 1st to December 31st (excluding December 25th)

Where: 51227 AB-60; University of Alberta Botanical Garden

Cost: 2 and under free; Child 3-12 – $10; Student – $15; Senior – $15; Adult – $20

When: December 1, 2020 at 7:00 PM

Where: Virtual (Facebook, Twitter, and Instagram)

The Nutcracker at Cineplex

When: Starts December 4th

Where: Cineplex Theaters or at home!

Cost: Order online from the Cineplex Store for $29.99 OR in select theaters Adults – $14.95, Seniors – $13.95, Children – $12.95

Holiday Swing with the Mercury Five

When: December 5th, 12th, and 19th

Where: 9641 102A Ave Edmonton; Co*Lab

Cost: $26.74

Candy Cane Lane

When: December 11, 2020 to January 1, 2021

Where: 148th Street between 92nd and 100th Ave Edmonton; Crestwood Community League

*This year they are asking that visitors to the lane drive through to see the lights and decorations and not walk; if you do get out of your vehicle, please wear a mask. And if you can, please bring a food bank donation as there will be drop off points along the lane.

Drive In Fireworks – Town of Stony Plain

When: December 31, 2020

Where: Heritage Park, Stony Plain

There is no cost for this event; however, there will only be limited spots available – so make sure you register. Registration opens December 12th. Please note there will be no pedestrian access to the grounds – so be sure to register!
