The Sugar Cube’s 2nd Annual Halloween Giveaway is right around the corner – and this year it is in support of the Alberta Children’s Hospital!
This Halloween, The Sugar Cube is taking their annual Halloween Giveaway to a whole other level!
Partnering with the Alberta Children’s Hospital to help raise micro donations for the hospital – in return one lucky Calgary community will have The Sugar Cube visit them on Halloween evening, giving away copious amounts of candy from their mobile candy store!
Last year the campaign was ran solely on social media to drum up some excitement about our Annual Halloween Giveaway. Calgarians’ were asked to simply vote for what community they wanted us to come to – and the community with the most votes had us come down and empty out the contents of The Sugar Cube, Calgary’s mobile candy store, to trick or treaters.
“The campaign saw huge success on social media and in a two-hour window we served over 250 people eager for their share of candy – giving away over 50kg!” Alyssa Tilston, business owner. “This year, we wanted to make it even bigger and better – all the while giving back to a great cause, The Alberta Children’s Hospital – hoping to raise funds of $2,500.”
Instead of Calgarians simpy voting for their community they will be micro donating through our custom website set up by The Alberta Children’s Hospital (www.childrenshospital.ab.ca/TheSugarCube). The campaign will launch on October 1st, 2015 and run through to October 25th, 2015. On October 26th, 2015 the winning community will be announced – and we will be stationed in that community giving away candy and hot chocolate for two hours on Halloween night, October 31st, 2015.
We are hoping to get media involved to help us spread the word about this campaign in order to help raise as much as possible for the Alberta Children’s Hospital.
About “Make Your Trick or Treat Extra Sweet”:
The first annual ‘Make Your Trick or Treat Extra Sweet’ was held in 2014, with over 200 people voting online for their community online simply via our social media platforms. Last year, we served over 250 children on Halloween night, giving over 50kg worth of candy and countless smiles. This year, we hope to double the amount of candy given away and have a fundraising goal of $2,500. About The Children’s Hospital The Alberta Children’s Hospital Foundation raises funds for excellence in child health, research and family centred care. As the official fundraising body for the Alberta Children’s Hospital, all money raised by the Alberta Children’s Hospital Foundation is re-invested in the hospital and child health needs in this region. The Sugar Cube is Calgary’s very own mobile Candy Store, and was founded in 2013. Attending events all throughout Calgary selling their sweet treats to event goer’s young and old.
