This week we are talking to Robyn Snow, owner of Glow Yoga Kids. Glow Yoga has been providing mobile Rainbow style yoga enrichment programs to Edmonton & area schools and groups since 2011. Kids yoga is a fun and inspiring way for children to develop important psychological, physical and emotional skills. Kids yoga classes are fun, silly, supportive, and creative. A nurturing class atmosphere provides the opportunity to make meaningful connections to one’s self and others in a non-judgmental and non-competitive way. Robyn has also donated a giveaway prize to one lucky reader. See below for details.
How did you get the idea for your business?
I started working for Glow Yoga Kids in 2016 after completing my 200hour yoga teacher training. At that point I had already done a ton of volunteering with kids and had taken an early childhood development course, so I knew that teaching kids was what I wanted to do. I immediately connected with the owner of the company and after a few short years of mentoring, she offered the company to me. Over the years, I have seen the benefits of yoga and mindfulness in kids in my classes and in my home and am so thankful that I am able to share it with as many kids as I do. It is my goal to spread yoga and mindfulness to as many kids as possible, ultimately making the world a better place.
How did you come up with the name for your business?
Glow Yoga Kids was a fully established company when I took it over but the meaning behind it, makes me so happy and continues to align with our mission statement for the company as well. We believe that every child has a beautifully distinctive inner light, and it is through our classes that children are given the opportunity to express themselves and let their light shine safely and openly. We believe that we give children the opportunity to explore their light, which is the point behind the name. You can’t shine until you, “Glow”.

I wish I had learned about Yoga as a child! I didn’t hear about it until I was an adult!
