This year has gone by in a blink, I am honestly in disbelief that it is already September and that Christmas and Hanukkah are rapidly approaching. I don’t know about you but I have given way too much to Amazon this year and look forward to doing more shopping at small shops for the remainder of the year.
The Local Space

This local store has 3 locations in the lower mainland, Chilliwack, Langley and Surrey in British Columbia. Most of the items that they carry are available for shipping. They carry clothes, accessories, toiletries, baby items, and housewares. All items carried in the store are small local businesses, mostly women owned.
Birch Hill Studio Inc.

This store is Metis and women owned. They just opened up a beautiful new store in Vernon, BC. They carry a large amount of Canadiana products. Sierra and her team have their own clothing brands (Haus of Birch, Mac&Jill, ATNP and The OKV). They also carry a variety of clothing, lifestyle and accessories.
The Happy Home Line
The Happy Home Line is a small home based, home decor line, designed in Spruce Grove, Alberta. The products are manufactured locally with sustainability in mind. Allison carries candles & melts, ceramics, metal signage, textiles and paper products.
KOS Designs
KOS Designs is an indigenous female owned company. They make a wide variety of custom made products including cups, door mats, tote bags and key chains. She has a wide variety of “Every Child Matters” products to stock up on for the National Day of Truth and Reconciliation Day and Orange Shirt Day.
The Heart Cloverdale
This female owned company is located in Cloverdale, BC. It started as a co-working space for small businesses and multi-purpose retail space. They champion for local brands and carry a variety of fashion, bath & beauty and home goods
