Free Skating Comes To Edmonton This Winter

Some great news has come to the capital city – free skating! That’s right, just like with free outdoor swimming this past summer the city of Edmonton has generously offered free skating this winter. Which is fantastic news, especially for families with multiple children. There are many locations throughout our city offering this service and each location has different times for drop-in skate. So be sure to check online before you head on over. Children under the age of 8 must be supervised by a responsible person ages 13+.

At the Downtown Community Arena, they offer complimentary helmets, skates, and skating aids. This is great as it can be quite an investment to purchase everything you need to go out on the ice. For more information on this click here!

Another great program for parents and their little ones is the Parents & Tots public skate! This is for children under the age of 6 and their parents/caregiver to allow them to skate freely and/or play with skates and pucks. Kids must be actively supervised by an adult and both the kids and parents must be on skates.

Happy Skating!
