Ladies Night Out: Rest, Relax and Recharge Event

As part of this year’s Self-Care September series I co-hosted a “Moms Night Out” with Luna Float in Chilliwack (101-45645 Tamihi Way). It was so much fun that we decided to do it again on November 13th from 5pm to 8pm. For $99 participants will get to pull a card from a lavish Earth crystal affirmation deck to help set a personalized intention for the evening, have a 60 minute revitalizing float session, have a 15 minute re-energizing NeuroSpa chair session, receive a complimentary bottle of Royals Kombucha, create your own Mala bracelet and take home a mini swag bag. The first to pay will have first choice of the time slots for the float and NeuroSpa chair. Pre-registration is required and can book by emailing lunafloat@gmail.com.

Floating

If you haven’t tried a sensory deprivation tank before you can read about my previous experiences here and here. Everyone’s experiences are completely different and can be different each time you float. Prior to beginning your float, each room has a shower with body wash and shampoo. It’s ideal to wash any products off prior to starting your float. Once your inside you have the option to leave the door open or closed, and the light on or off. I personally find that with the door open that I got chilly during the float. I also prefer the lights off with a floating light orb. For myself, I find that the float has gone by quickly and I enjoy the peace of being alone with my thoughts. I find that I feel like I am leaving a long massage or having a 12-hour nap once leaving. My skin has also feels very soft afterwards. Floating can be done by anyone aged 5 and up. It is also safe for pregnant women.

NeuroSpa Chair

I have only tried this chair once. It is a bit hard to explain but the experience can be relaxing or energizing depending on the setting. You lay on a medical type chair that massages your body from the head to the toe. While wearing headphones you lay under a hood that will cover your face. Under the hood there is an image of a mountain that will change lights and the headphones will play a voice talking you through the experience. This isn’t recommended for pregnant women but a coupon for a 15-minute session can be issued. The benefits of the chair include:

  • Neutralizes stress and anxiety
  • Improve sleep and eliminate fatigue
  • Improve performance and concentration
  • Stimulate blood circulation and regulates blood pressure
  • Reduces back, neck and arthritis pain

Creative Malas

Anita offers a quick make and take class. She brings a variety of beads and elastic. Bracelet making can take as little as 10 to 15 minutes to make and you get a personalized mala bracelet to take home. She can help explain some of the benefits behind the stones and has custom pieces available for purchase. She offers in-home classes and sells in markets and on etsy.
